Comb Honey

Comb Honey is an amazing product of bees handiwork. We literally see the storehouses the bees have built for their precious nectar from beeswax they have produced - every little hexagon containing nature's liquid gold.

Comb honey is honey as our ancestors knew it. In the days before bees were kept in re-usable hives, the hive was destroyed to obtain the treasure within and all the clean comb was removed and crushed for eating. Today we can enjoy this treat knowing the bees home is intact and they will happily rebuild any comb removed.

For a special centrepiece on your antipasto platter or cheeseboard, you cannot beat comb honey. It is a superb match to strong flavoured cheese such as blue or cheddar as well as soft cheeses such as brie and port salut. Honeycomb makes an easy dessert with a scoop of icecream and a ginger snap or two for decadence!
