ABOUT US

Hiveworld Honey

Hive World was established in 2017 to supply beekeeping equipment to the Apiculture industry.

In 2019 we saw an opportunity in the market for the sale of raw honey in Porirua, thus Hiveworld Honey was created.  We loved the idea of recycling consumer's honey jars to save on waste packaging, so we set up a fill your own honey jar station with six varieties for you to choose from.  We also have jars available instore if you've left yours at home.  An important part of our Porirua Honey on Tap experience is being able to taste the honey before you buy, something you cannot do in a regular shop.

Due to our contacts among beekeepers throughout the country, we were confident that we could source the quality honey we required.  However, it is not always easy to secure our special varieties as honey is only harvested once a year from December – March so from time to time we can run out of some varieties. Our honey-on-tap is raw, not micro filtered or heat treated. Most raw honeys will crystallize over time so this is why you do not see raw honey in the supermarkets.  (Crystallized honey does not look attractive to the consumer.)

Because we love to share the story of our amazing New Zealand honey varieties and keep our customers informed of up-to-date discoveries in the honey world, we have created this website for you to enjoy.   Check out our informative blogs as well as videos and recipes using honey.  As well, you will find kids activities to download to interest children in the amazing world of the honeybee.

We are passionate about our New Zealand honeys, so do ask questions when you are in-store because we love to advise and give you the story about each variety. We also sell pure beeswax candles and honey related gifts as well as our range of premium black label packs of honey for a very special gift.

If you are unable to access our shop, you can contact us by phone:  04 232 7802 or 0800 000 770 or by filling out the contact form on our Contact Us page.  We look forward to hearing from you.
